Opportunities exist for Diploma students who perform well in both academic study and practice to proceed to a BSc, conditional on meeting the identified criteria.
Adult Nursing
Adult nursing focuses upon the health care needs of people from 16 years onwards. The diverse and interesting range of experiences encompasses caring for clients with acute care needs in a hospital setting to longer term needs of a client within the community setting.
Child Nursing
Our programme is firmly based on the philosophy of family-centred care, including support and education to the family of the child, to enable them to be as involved in their child's care as they feel is appropriate. Students will be equipped to care for children and their families in a variety of settings including acute, primary care and community settings.
Mental Health Nursing
Mental health nursing is a branch of nursing which aims to help people find meaning and purpose in their lives, regardless of the nature of their psychological or psychiatric problems. Mental health nurses function as specialists within multidisciplinary teams, alongside people with a whole range of difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders, psychoses and drug and alcohol problems.
