Prices

The University continues to heavily subsidise Arriva Travel Cards issued to staff.

This provides great value for money for staff but HMRC requires staff to pay tax on the value of the resulting taxable benefit.

This tax will be payable from 1 August 2012. Staff who purchase an Arriva Travel Card do not need to take any action as Payroll will manage the collection of the tax from your next available salary payment.

The value of the benefit on an annual Travel Card is currently £147 (at 16 April 2013). Under the current rates, a standard rate taxpayer, who buys an annual Travel Card will be required to pay up to £29.40 in Tax. To help you to pay for your travel to work by bus, you can apply for an interest-free season ticket loan. This is available to full and part time members of staff employed on University contracts of employment of one year or more. More information and application forms are on the payroll website.

Collecting your Travel Card

Purchased Travel Cards can be collected the next working day from the Cashiers Office, 1^st Floor Senate House, between 0930 and 1500. In order to collect your Travel Card you must bring your valid University of Surrey campus card.

Replacement Travel Cards

Replacement Travel Cards cost £15. Purchased replacements can be collected the next working day from the Cashiers Office, 1^st Floor Senate House, between 0930 and 1500. In order to collect your replacement you must bring your valid University of Surrey campus card.

COLLECTING YOUR TRAVELCARD

In order to collect your Travelcard, you must bring a valid University of Surrey Campus card.

You are able to collect your travel card from the Cashiers office the next day, between the hours 9.30 and 3pm

Replacement Travelcards

If you lose your bus Travelcard, you may buy a replacement here.  This will be available for collection the next working day, from the Cashiers Office, 1^st Floor Senate House, between 0930 and 1530.  In order to collect your replacement, you must have a valid University of Surrey Campus card.

You can also purchase a Replacement Campus Card via the online store, by either clicking the link or by looking under the Library section of the product catalogue.

Travelcards issued by the Accommodation Office

If your original bus Travelcard was issued by the Accommodation Office as part of your student accommodation package, you should contact them direct for a replacement.
