SFM2018 is a two-day conference, to be held on the 17th and 18th April 2018 at the Grand Pier, Weston-Super-Mare, UK. Organised by Prof. Robert Dorey (Materials Science & Engineering, University of Surrey) and Prof. Ian Reaney (Materials Science & Engineering, University of Sheffield), SFM2018 follows on from the successful inaugural conference held in Scarborough in April 2016.
Topics will include piezoelectrics, thermoelectrics, fuel cells, solar cells, dielectrics, and manufacturing challenges for next-generation functional materials. SFM2018 will be of interest to industrialists, solid state physicists, solid state chemists and materials scientists interested in functional materials. It also aims to gain the perspective of industry concerning the materials substitution and sustainability issues likely to become critical over the next 5-10 years.
SFM2018 is supported by EPSRC projects MASSIVE (University of Surrey) and SuBST (University of Sheffield). For further information about the conference and details of how to submit an abstract, please visit https://www.surrey.ac.uk/massive/ or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
