Course Description

The workshop provides an overview and taster of mixed methods research. It provides a grounding in the logical underpinnings of mixed methods research; surveys the range of mixed method research designs; shows how mixed methods research is used in applied and policy-related work; relates principles and techniques to digital resources that facilitate mixed methods research; and discusses hot topics in current debates in the mixed methods community. Presentations are interleaved with substantial group exercises and with a number of shorter interactive segments. The workshop concludes with a surgery in which individual advice will be provided on participants’ own current or planned mixed methods work.
