DescriptionThe Discipline of Surrey Hospitality and Tourism Management in Surrey Business School is delighted to be hosting the 58th UTSG Conference 2026, which will take place at the University of Surrey on 13 -15 July 2026. The Universities’ Transport Study Group (UTSG), initiated by the late Professor R.J. Smeed of University College London in 1967, aims to promote transport teaching and research and to act as a focus for those involved in these activities in universities and institutions of higher education in the UK and Ireland. UTSG has over 50 University members, with over 100 Departments contributing to its activities. UTSG membership is free for institutions which meet its requirements and all positions on its elected Executive Committee are honorary. Outline of the Conference:
The UTSG Annual Conference is the main event in the UTSG calendar. In its 58th year now, it has become a regular event for transport researchers and practitioners in the UK, also attracting an increasing number of contributions by international scholars. The UTSG conference actively supports PhD and Early Career Researchers through dedicated training sessions.
Abstracts about relevant transport related topics are welcome to be submitted for review. Selected conference submissions will be invited to contribute to Special Issues arranged only for UTSG contributors. The 58th UTSG Annual Conference includes a panel discussion by leading UK practitioners and three renowned keynote speakers.

We are offering early bird fees up until Monday 18th May 2026, so please make sure you secure your space in good time.
ACCOMMODATION
There is a LIMITED amount of campus accommodation at £56 per night, including breakfast. These rooms are en-suite and situated on our Manor Park Campus. They can be booked online, after paying your conference registration fees there will be an option to purchase accommodation on campus, subject to availability.

PARKING
There will be some parking available on the main campus. Please make sure to select the relevant box on the booking form if you require a parking space. A link will be sent in your welcome email, to register your vehicle’s registration number. Please be sure to register your vehicle PRIOR to arriving on campus, to avoid any parking charges.
CONFERENCE DINNER
The Conference Gala dinner will be held at Gorse Hill, a beautiful Country House Hotel set in the gorgeous Surrey countryside, close to Guildford, in Woking. Please remember to mark your dietary requirements on the booking form.

PAYMENT
We would strongly encourage you to pay by card, as this is the easiest and fastest method for you and for us.
There will be an option to pay by BACS transfer, if you have a UK bank account, for which we will issue you with an invoice. In order for us to do this, you will be required to provide information for the invoice. Please have this information ready at the time of booking. Please allow at least 4 weeks for invoice and payment to be processed.
