The 51st Academy of International Business UK & Ireland Chapter (AIB UKI) will be hosted by Surrey Business School between the 24th and 26th of April 2025. Previous AIB UKI conferences were recently held at Aston University (2024) and the University of Glasgow (2023). The AIB UKI chapter brings together International Business scholars from the UK and Ireland (and beyond!), and this year’s conference theme centres around global technological, political, and sustainability challenges. There are expected to be around 200 participants and attendees consisting of academics, business practitioners, and policy makers. This year’s conference theme invites participation on an array of international business (IB) issues, theories and empirical contexts that steer contemporary technological, political and sustainability challenges. We encourage and invoke critical and timely discussions centred around firms’ international involvement in view of these ongoing critical issues. Outline of the Conference: The conference will feature: 1. Conceptual and empirical research papers to advance scholarship of the IB field. 2. Plenary/panel sessions and round tables to discuss current and future trends of international business and also provide potential solutions to pressing technological, political, and sustainability challenges. 3. Research sessions and workshops to steer ideas and suggestions on the publication process and rigor, and also spark collaborations among early, mid, and established scholars to develop and disseminate knowledge in the IB field.
