The Department of Music and Media at the University of Surrey host the sixth Performance Studies Network International Conference. This is the conference originally scheduled to take place in 2020 at the University of Huddersfield.

The Department of Music and Media are delighted to resume hosting the biennial PSN International Conference bringing together researchers across the broad disciplines of music, performance and composition, allowing for interaction and cross-fertilisation in the process. The conference will be held face-to-face in the Performing Arts Technology Studios (PATS) on the University of Surrey’s Stag Hill campus. Our state of the art facilities, generous accommodation and green campus will provide the ideal location for delegates to present their research, share, debate and resume the unique networking that can only occur in person. The campus is only about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Guildford, an attractive market town close to the Surrey Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the south east of England, and close to Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

Accommodation is bed and breakfast. The ‘day delegate’ package includes refreshments and lunch but not the evening meal.

‘Reimagining Criminological Futures: New Criminologies in a Changing World’

The British Society of Criminology Conference is taking place on 28 June – 1 July at the University of Surrey. The conference consists of the postgraduate conference (28-29 June) and the main conference (29 June – 1 July). The aim of the conference is to enable delegates to critically engage with research, debates, and perspectives within contemporary criminology in a time of rapid social and economic change. The conference will be face-to-face. We will bring together delegates from diverse backgrounds (academics, policymakers, practitioners, NGOs, businesses) to discuss and share ideas on the most seminal and pressing issues in criminology today. The conference programme will comprise plenary sessions, parallel sessions, roundtables, and author meets critics sessions. We will provide opportunities to network, expand your knowledge, and to present ideas to others. You may choose whether you would like to attend the full three-day conference, or one specific day only. We are offering early bird fees up until 20 of May. We are also offering special rates for BSC members.
