DescriptionThe Discipline of Surrey Hospitality and Tourism Management in Surrey Business School is delighted to be hosting CHME 2026, which will take place at the University of Surrey on 9 -12 June 2026. The Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME) is an influential organisation which lobbies government bodies and external organisations to strengthen and develop hospitality management education. Please see the Visit Guildford website for information about accommodation in Guildford. This conference is being held on the Stag Hill site at the University of Surrey. Outline of the Conference: Our annual CHME conference is our spotlight event and it is not to be missed. Including renowned academia and industry keynote speakers from around the world, the CHME conference offers an invaluable opportunity to update knowledge and learn about new developments and best practices in hospitality. The conference includes a mix of keynotes, plenary sessions, paper, and poster presentations, along with social events. There are also lots of opportunities for networking. In addition to full papers, we welcome work-in-progress papers which provide research students, or new academics, the opportunity to present their findings in a supportive and encouraging environment. To submit your main conference paper, please visit the CHME Website. Deadline is 16 January 2026. We are offering early bird fees up until Monday 27th April 2026, so please make sure you secure your space in good time. ACCOMMODATION A list of hotels in Guildford can be found here. Please mention that you are attending a conference at the University of Surrey and ask for the University’s preferential rate on the accommodation cost (subject to availability). PARKING There will be some parking available on the main campus. Please make sure to select the relevant box on the booking form if you require a parking space. A link will be sent in your welcome email, to register your vehicle’s registration number. Please be sure to register your vehicle PRIOR to arriving on campus, to avoid any parking charges. CONFERENCE DINNER The Conference Gala dinner will be held in our Lakeside Restaurant, on campus. Please remember to mark your dietary requirements on the booking form. PAYMENT We would strongly encourage you to pay by card, as this is the easiest and fastest method for you and for us. There will be an option to pay by BACS transfer, for which we will issue you with an invoice. In order for us to do this, you will be required to provide information for the invoice.
