Cursive II is the result of a long journey into the ancient practice of movement and spirituality and blends tai chi into the modern dance idiom. Danced against a background featuring blown-up images of Sung porcelain framed by black rice paper, Cursive II is punctuated by variations in energy and complexity, driven by Lin’s collage of music by John Cage. The DVD includes interviews with the creative team and an introduction to Cursive II, Lin Hwai-min and Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan and places Cursive II in the context of the company’s history
