You are responsible for arranging your own travel insurance and health insurance. 1.3 All payments must be made in GB Pounds Sterling. Any currency conversion costs or other charges incurred in making the payment or in processing a refund shall be borne by you and shall not be deductible from the programme fee due to University of Surrey. 2.0 Your rights to cancel and applicable refund 2.1 You have the right to cancel your booking with us for any reason (including if you change your mind) within a fourteen (14) day cancellation period (the “Cancellation Period”). You do not have to give us any reason for cancelling. The Cancellation Period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract. In other words, you will have 14 days from the day after the day we email you a confirmation email to confirm that we accept your booking and that we have received payment in full of your fees. 2.2 You are responsible for complying with all United Kingdom entry and visa requirements and for obtaining the necessary contents to enable your participation in the Program. The rejection of a visa or other entry application by the British authorities and will not be considered by University of Surrey to be exceptional mitigating circumstances. 2.3 You wish to cancel your place on the summer school after the Cancellation Period has expired: 2.3.1. For such cancellations received by the University on or before 12 weeks before the commencement date, 100% of the fees will be refunded, save for the retention of a £25 administrative fee. We will only refund fees via the online store. 2.3.2. For such cancellations received by the University less than 12 weeks before the commencement date, none of the fees will be refunded, save that the University reserves the right to provide you with a full refund of the fees under serious, unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to serious illness or bereavement. The decision to refund the fees under such circumstances is at the University’s full discretion. Any supporting documentation must be translated if it is not in English. 2.3.3 Procedure to cancel: Cancellation requests must be made in writing to the SBS Summer School Team: sbs@surrey.ac.uk explaining your reason for requesting the cancellation. 3.0 Our rights to cancel and applicable refund 3.1 We may have to cancel your Confirmed Place in exceptional circumstances (e.g. if we are not able to make adjustments which you have requested). 3.2 We reserve the right to cancel the summer school (and therefore your Confirmed Place): -if the Program fails to meet the minimum recruitment level by 12 weeks preceding commencement of the Course. a) -the Program’s staff and/or tutors fall ill or for other reasons outside Our reasonable control, such as a fire or a flood, means that we have to cancel the program; or a) -any law, government rule, regulation, order or direction, including but not limited to any related to the Covid-19 pandemic, means we have to cancel the Program. 3.3. If we have to cancel the summer school under Clause 2.2 and you have a confirmed course place, we will refund the tuition fee to You. We will not accept liability for any costs or losses incurred by you which are claimed to have arisen through cancellation of the summer school and you are strongly advised to take out insurance against cancellation of the course if your travel costs are likely to be substantial. |
