Aranya Amrita is about ecology, deforestation, popular resistance, women as organisers of social change, and the power of contemporary Indian dance theatre. It is based on a dance drama created by the ten women and four men dancers of the Dancers' Guild of Calcutta. This video is a useful introduction to the conventions of Indian classical dance.
